Online Assessment & Image Submission

Once you request an appointment, you’ll receive a form to complete, including a medical questionnaire and high-resolution images of your skin.

Dermatologist Review & Triage

Our Specialist Dermatologists assess your submission alongside our Dermal Therapists to determine suitability for early treatment.

RAAC Appointment (In Clinic)

During your Rapid Access Acne Clinic appointment, your Specialist Dermal Therapist will:

  • Perform a comprehensive skin and product review
  • Initiate your individualised acne management plan
  • Provide a steam extraction facial to remove congestion and blackheads/whiteheads
  • Apply LED Light Therapy to calm inflammation and support skin repair
  • Initiate prescription treatment, as directed by your Dermatologist
Dermatologist Follow-Up

Ongoing care is provided with a review appointment with your Dermatologist, ensuring your treatment plan evolves with your skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

To ensure the best outcome from your RAAC appointment:

  • Complete the RAAC questionnaire thoroughly
  • Provide clear, high-resolution photos of your skin without makeup
  • Avoid new skincare products or actives in the 48 hours before your visit
  • Refrain from exfoliation, waxing or peels 72 hours prior

After your visit, we recommend:

  • Avoid active ingredients (AHAs/BHAs/retinoids) for 48 hours
  • Follow your customised skincare regime as outlined
  • Wear SPF daily and avoid sun exposure for 3–5 days
  • Don’t pick or squeeze breakouts to avoid post-inflammatory pigmentation
  • Book your Dermatologist follow-up as advised

RAAC is a fast-tracked service at Southern Dermatology that allows patients to access acne treatment sooner, guided by Specialist Dermal Therapists and Dermatologists.

Patients with mild to moderate acne or those requiring early intervention may be eligible. Suitability is assessed based on your questionnaire and photos.

Yes. While your initial treatment may begin with a Dermal Therapist, your plan is reviewed and guided by a Board-Certified Dermatologist.

Once your form and images are received, you can typically begin within 1–2 weeks—much faster than standard Dermatology waitlists.

You’ll receive a skincare review, steam extractions, LED therapy, and potentially start prescription medication, all under Dermatologist supervision.

Yes. Follow-up with your Dermatologist ensures your progress is monitored and your treatment is adjusted as needed.

No, we treat patients of all ages, from teens to adults with persistent or late-onset acne.

No significant downtime. You may experience mild redness for a few hours post-extractions or LED therapy.

Your images will be triaged by a Dermatologist. If more intensive care is needed, you'll be booked directly with a Dermatologist.

Treatments may include topical retinoids, antibiotics, hormonal therapies or oral medications—determined by your Dermatologist.

Only if approved by your Specialist. Some products may interfere with or irritate the skin during active treatment.

Most patients see a noticeable improvement within 6–12 weeks of consistent treatment.
